No filming, no editing, no prompt writing. This guide walks you through it start to finish.

What You'll Need

Before you start, have these ready:

  • A reference ad - a link to a high-performing Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok ad.

  • Your product image - Tagshop AI pulls images, messaging, and selling points straight from it.

That's it. No scripts, no storyboards, no creative team.

Step 1 - Add a Reference Ad

The first step is identifying an ad whose structure you want to apply to your product. This does not have to be a competitor's ad - it simply needs to be a format that performs well in your category or for your target audience.

There are three ways to provide a reference:

Paste a link. Copy the URL of a Meta or TikTok ad and paste it into the Ad Clone tool. Tagshop AI automatically extracts and analyzes the ad.

Upload a video. If you have a reference ad saved as a file, upload it directly. The tool accepts video files up to 10 MB.

Choose from the template library. Tagshop AI includes a built-in library of proven ad formats. If you do not have a specific reference in mind, browse the library and select a structure that fits your product and audience.

What makes a good reference ad?

Three things to look for before you paste that link.

It's recent.

Formats move fast. An ad that crushed it two years ago is playing by old rules. Pick something from the last few months.

It's relevant.

It doesn't have to be your exact product, but it should speak to a similar audience or fall into the same category.

It's clearly working.

The easiest tell? It's been running for weeks. Platforms stop serving ads that don't perform. If it's still showing up in your feed, it's converting.

Step 2 - Add Your Product

Drop your product URL into the product field. Tagshop AI automatically imports your product images, key selling points, and messaging angles directly from the page.

There is no manual brief to write. There are no assets to upload separately. The platform does the extraction automatically.

What makes a strong product input?

A product page with clean, well-lit images and clear copy produces the best output. You do not need a professional photoshoot. But images where the product is clearly visible against a clean background — and copy that clearly explains what the product does and why it matters - give the AI the best material to work with.

Step 3 - Generate Your Ad

Once the reference and product are in place, hit generate.

You're taken straight into the TagShop AI Video Agent, where you'll find a ready-made storyboard and script built around your product. Want to tweak the dialogue, change the flow, adjust anything? Go ahead. It's fully editable before you move forward.

Step 4 - Review, Refine, and Export

Preview the output. If you want a different variation - a different avatar, a different angle, a different energy - regenerate. Each generation produces a unique output.

When you are satisfied, export your ad. Tagshop AI automatically formats the video for every major platform:

  • Facebook and Instagram (Meta) video ads

  • TikTok

  • YouTube Shorts

  • Instagram Reels

  • Snapchat

  • Pinterest

One generation covers every aspect ratio and format requirement. No manual resizing or reformatting needed.

Tips for the Best Results

  • Clone what's working now. Trends move fast. Pick a recent, high-performing ad rather than an old one.

  • Match the niche. References close to your product type clone more naturally.

  • Test in batches. Generate several versions, run them, and scale the winner.

  • Keep your product page tidy. Better source images and clearer copy mean a better final ad.

Troubleshooting

My reference link won't extract.

Make sure it's a public Meta or TikTok ad link, not a private or expired post. Try copying the link again, or upload the video file directly instead.

Tagshop AI didn't pull my product images.

Confirm the product URL is public and loads correctly. If images are missing, check that your product page displays them without a login or pop-up blocking access.

The avatar or scenes don't fit my product.

Generate again for a new variation, or start from a reference ad that's closer to your product category.

The output looks too similar / too different from the original. That balance is by design - we keep the winning structure and change the execution. If you want it to feel more distinct, try a different reference or regenerate.

Is the Output Really Copyright-Free?

Yes. Every clone is generated from scratch with a new avatar and original visuals. You're applying a proven format to your own product - not reusing anyone's footage, voice, or branding. That keeps your ad account safe and your creative fully your own.
